Glo NIN Advertisement Featuring Osas Ighodaro Is Against ASP, Says APCON

The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), has writte Globacom Limited on its link your NIN advertisement of Dial *109#, featuring a female model Osas Ighodaro, which exposed her cleavage.

APCON in a statement on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, signed by it Registrar/ Chief Executive, Dr Olalekan Fadolapo, explained that the campaign which was caused to be exposed by Glo is currently being ired on TV stations and social media platforms targeting at the Nigerian market and eliciting complaints about the exposure of the model Cleavage.
The council noted that Globacom Limited does not submit the advertisement nor approved by the Advertising Standard Panel (ASP), the statutory charged with the responsibility of ensuring that advertisements conform with the prevailing laws of the Federation as well has the code of ethics of advertising in Nigeria.

“We have written to the management of Globacom Limited, Media stations and relevant government agencies to stop further exposure of the advertisement on all social media platforms.It added.

APCON is committed to ensuring that the advertising ecosystem is sanitized and shall use all lawful means including causing the procecusion of violators of the advertising laws of the federation
