Gunmen Kidnap Nasarawa Information Commissioner

The Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism in Nasarawa State, Hon Yakubu Lawal has been kidnapped.

Lawal was reportedly kidnapped at his residence in Nasarawa Eggon by unknown gunmen after sporadic shootings which lasted for over thirty minutes.

A family source confirmed the incident, noting that the gunmen who whisked the commissioner away were heavily armed.

All efforts to speak to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO): DSP Ramhan Nansel proved abortive as the police spokesperson did not respond to call and text message at press time.

Recall that a staff of Government Science Secondary School (GSSS) Auta Nasela was Killed by unknown gunmen at the staff quaters on Saturday night while another staff sustained degrees of injuries.

Auta met his waterloo on saturday night when his assailants shot sporadically on air at around 8:00pm.

It was gathered that one of the survival of the incident Timothy Malle is currently admitted at the intensive care of a public hospital in the state.

It would be recalled that the state governor, Engineeér Abdullahi Sule recently shutdown primary and Secondary schools in the state following an information by security agencies in the state.
