LASG Restates Commitment to Transportation Enforcement Campaign

The Lagos State Government (LASG) through the Ministry of Transportation has affirmed its commitment to maintaining its enforcement campaign until commercial vehicle drivers heed to government’s warnings.

In the ongoing efforts by the LASG to sanitize the roads and ensure that commercial vehicles desist from the practice of indiscriminate parking at laybys and bridges.

The Ministry of Transportation, along with its enforcement team comprising the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olawale Musa, conducted a comprehensive enforcement operation in Ojodu Berger today, a followup on the earlier visit to the area 2 weeks ago.

The primary objective of the exercise was to see the level of compliance and also apprehend recalcitrant commercial vehicles. As a result of these enforcement measures, numerous commercial vehicles were removed from the area.

In response to the decisive actions taken by the State Government, union leaders in the Ojodu Berger region have expressed their willingness to collaborate with the government to eliminate unauthorized parking on bridges and laybys within their jurisdiction.

Also in the Enforcement Team are: the General Manager, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, Mr. Rasheed Muri- Okuola and the Senior Special Assistant to The Governor On Transportation, Mr. Kehinde Motajo.
