The Lagos State Government has introduced additional Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) on four major routes to enhance traffic management, improve commuting, and ensure road safety.

Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, revealed this on Thursday at a press conference in Alausa, Ikeja emphasized that the system is set to enforce speed limits, aims to safeguard lives, promote orderliness, and curb reckless driving.

He urged commuters to comply with traffic laws, clarifying that the deployment of e-Police sites on key roads is not a revenue generation drive.

The new speed regulations include:

Alapere-Ogudu Road – 80 km/h

Nitel and Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way – 60 km/h

Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, Tunbosun Alake, highlighted that the initiative, developed in partnership with the private sector, aligns with the state’s commitment to a smart, technologically advanced Lagos.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Olawale Musa, added that while violations—such as running red lights and exceeding speed limits—may attract fines, the primary goal is to correct bad driving behaviors and encourage adherence to traffic regulations.
