The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi alongside the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olawale Musa earlier today summoned Officials of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, (NUPENG) to a crunch meeting over non-compliace with E-call Up operational guidelines.

The meeting which was held at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Transportation at the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja centered on NUPENG’s disregard for the online booking system, which has led to cash collections and trucks parking willy-nilly on the roads. This chaos is not only clogging the Lekki-Epe Corridor but also compromising the efficiency of the entire system.

Reiterating the process of the E-call Up System, the Transportation Commissioner stated that trucks requires validation and clearance before hitting designated parks, a simple process NUPENG seems to be sidestepping.

The Commissioner has given NUPENG a strict deadline of Monday, November 10, 2025 to fall in line and comply with the E-call Up guidelines or face enforcement measures.

NUPENG Officials in their responses promised to engage their members towards carrying out the order and also attend to other issues raised.

Also in attendance at the meeting are Officials of the E-call Up System and Management of the Ministry of Transportation.

Bolanle Ogunlola (Mrs.)
Director, Public Affairs.
