SIFAX Group has begun the new business year with a clear focus on innovation as a key driver of growth, outlining plans to strengthen operations, deepen technology adoption and expand its footprint across West Africa.

The Group Chairman, Dr Taiwo Afolabi, disclosed this in his New Year message to employees, partners and stakeholders, where he highlighted the company’s strategic priorities while reflecting on a strong performance in the previous year.

Afolabi said the Group’s strategy is anchored on growth through innovation, with emphasis on operational excellence, stronger collaboration across subsidiaries, sustainability and improved customer focused service delivery.

He explained that SIFAX Group is positioning itself to respond proactively to industry shifts and emerging opportunities across its diverse business portfolio.

He noted that priority areas include advancing technological integration within logistics and maritime operations, expanding the adoption of cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions and deepening the Group’s presence across the West African sub region, particularly through its financial services businesses.

According to him, the long term goal remains to build Africa’s global conglomerate that is trusted, resilient, ethical and impactful.
The Chairman added that the innovation push will also support the Group’s regional expansion drive as it seeks to consolidate its operations and scale its financial services offerings across West Africa.

Afolabi said the outlook builds on notable achievements recorded in the previous year despite economic pressures, regulatory changes and global uncertainties. He cited the strong performance of Skyway Aviation Handling Company, which recorded a 155.45 per cent profit growth in the first half of the year and secured strategic handling contracts with international airlines including Ethiopian Airlines and Air Tanzania.

In the maritime sector, Ports and Cargo Handling Services Limited expanded its role in the general cargo business, reflecting increased capacity and operational strength.

SIFAX Shipping Company Limited also boosted Nigeria’s export connectivity with the introduction of direct Less than Container Load exports to the United Kingdom, while SIFAX Shipping Inland Container Limited continued to set benchmarks for efficient inland container terminal operations in the country.

The Group further strengthened its diversification strategy with the launch of SKYPAY Africa, a regional payment solution developed through its financial subsidiary, Sky Capital.

Beyond business growth, Afolabi reaffirmed SIFAX Group’s commitment to social responsibility through the Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation, which continued to support vulnerable individuals and communities across Nigeria.

Looking ahead, the Chairman stressed that innovation within SIFAX Group goes beyond technology to include people, culture and values.

He urged employees to uphold professionalism, integrity, teamwork and accountability as the organisation advances its long term vision of becoming Africa’s global conglomerate.
