The Lagos State Government (LASG) has signed a concession agreement to automate the operations of the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) and enhance the operation and maintenance of the MyLagosApp as part of efforts to improve public service delivery.

The agreement was signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Permanent Secretary of the MVAA, Mr. Rasheed Muri-Okunola, the Special Adviser in the Office of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), Mrs. Bukola Odoe, and representatives of the concessionaires.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Osiyemi said the initiative is designed to simplify and accelerate vehicle registration by eliminating cumbersome manual processes, thereby making the system more efficient and user-friendly for residents.

He explained that the business process automation of the MVAA would improve service delivery, reduce processing time and support the state’s drive towards digital governance.

The commissioner added that the agreement would also strengthen the MyLagosApp, enabling it to provide Lagos residents with more reliable real time traffic updates and other important information on activities across the state.

According to him, the improved digital platforms align with the government’s vision of leveraging technology to deliver seamless public services and enhance the overall experience of residents.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser, Office of Public Private Partnerships, Mrs. Bukola Odoe, urged the concessionaires to fully implement the terms of the agreement and ensure the delivery of quality services that would benefit Lagosians.
