Jetour WMotors, the official distributor of Jetour vehicles in Nigeria, has brought the 2026 Jetour Africa Expedition to Lagos, putting the T1, T2 and G700 SUVs through a 128-kilometre adventure combining city driving, lifestyle experiences and a demanding off-road challenge.

The expedition, held on Sunday, August 9, was designed to showcase the capability, safety, luxury, durability and adventure features of the Jetour brand while highlighting the growing potential of the Nigerian automotive market.

The Pan-African initiative, which commenced in Egypt on July 19, 2026, involves 12 African countries, with each participating market contributing its own experience to the continental adventure.

In Nigeria, Jetour WMotors flagged off the expedition from its showroom on Adeyemi Alakija Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, under favourable weather conditions.

The convoy, comprising eight units of the Jetour T1, T2 and G700, travelled through several locations, including Lekki Market, the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, Freedom Park, the National Theatre, Ahmadu Bello Way and Third Mainland Bridge, before heading to an off-road circuit in Ikorodu.

The Ikorodu segment provided the major performance test, with the SUVs subjected to challenging terrain, steep slopes, bumps and uneven surfaces to demonstrate their power, control, durability and off-road capabilities under real driving conditions.

According to the organisers, the exercise enabled participants to experience the capabilities of the vehicles first-hand while reinforcing Jetour’s positioning around adventure, performance and reliability.

Speaking during the expedition, Managing Director of Jetour WMotors, Tony Jamal, said the event was also aimed at showcasing Nigeria to Jetour’s global stakeholders and demonstrating the strength of the Nigerian market.

Jamal said Jetour WMotors was selected to organise the Nigerian leg of the international initiative following its appointment by Jetour China as the brand’s official distributor in Nigeria.

“Jetour is all over Nigeria now. We have a big trust and we have to thank God that Jetour trusts us as the official distributor. The people appreciate our services and our cars come directly from the factory,” he said.

He said the routes were deliberately selected to provide participants with an opportunity to experience different parts of Lagos while allowing the vehicles to demonstrate their versatility.

Jamal said the off-road experience was particularly significant because it provided an opportunity for the four-wheel-drive models to demonstrate their capabilities.

“We also showcased the capacity of Jetour, with the off-road experience of the 4×4 models. They have a 2.0 (turbocharged) engine with Euro 6, that is the most advanced engine, low fuel consumption and high torque. It shows us what Jetour can do,” he said.

Road Safety Awareness

Beyond the vehicle demonstrations, Jetour WMotors used the expedition to promote road safety awareness along the selected route.

The company distributed road safety awareness materials to motorists and other stakeholders, while also sharing items including Bigi Premium Drinking Water with members of the public.

The initiative formed part of the company’s broader effort to combine its automotive activities with public-facing road safety and community engagement.

Before the flag-off, participants also took part in a fitness and mobility warm-up session at the Jetour showroom, conducted by professional trainers from i-Fitness.

2027 Expedition to Be Bigger

Jamal disclosed that the 2026 expedition would serve as a foundation for a larger and more international edition in 2027.

According to him, next year’s programme is expected to attract participants from China and place greater emphasis on off-road driving, while new Jetour models are also expected to feature.

“It will be a bigger event in 2027 and it will be more than Africa. We are preparing and people will come from China, especially for the off-road experience. Next year, we will also have new models and it will be shown in Jetour WMotors showrooms,” he said.

The managing director also stressed the importance of after-sales support, assuring customers that Jetour WMotors places a strong emphasis on customer service.

He highlighted the company’s seven-year, unlimited-mileage warranty as part of its customer support package.

With the Lagos leg completed, the organisers said the experience had strengthened their plans to use the 2027 edition to further project Nigeria’s automotive market and tourism potential to a wider international audience, while showcasing new Jetour models and expanding the brand’s adventure-focused activities.
