ACCI mulls bill to compel businesses to register with Chamber
The President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry ACCI, Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubakar says as part of plans to develop a holistic approach to business development, the Chamber is set to collaborate with the National Assembly to make businesses register with the ACCI.
He stated this at the 31st Annual General Meeting of the Chamber which held at the ACCI complex in Abuja.

He said the Chamber has developed 5 strategic objectives which include the promotion of the the interest of members, capacity building, optimizing land and property assets of the Chamber and strengthening existing relationships with other chambers of commerce to drive membership and to increase collaboration between the Chamber and the government and diplomatic community.
Speaking on some of the successes so far, he said “I am glad to inform you that the activities required to deliver on these strategic objectives have been and will continue to be implemented. We organized training for all staff across all levels. Some staff were sponsored to attend professional conferences while some Executive and Council members were supported by the Chamber to attend international events.
“The Chamber was able to put the facilities to use through rental, while managing the previous lease agreements. In addition, the Chamber is working with a developer to execute the development of the 10 hectares of land.
“Site Development Plan (SDP) has also been designed and has reached advanced state of approval at FCDA. Following the design of the SDP, there is now additional space for lease open to members who might be interested in purchasing the land.
“The Chamber has been engaging with a foreign investor that has indicated interest to invest additioal capital into ACCI Cooperative Society. We have reached advanced stage in the discussion and hope to consummate the deal by the first quarter of next year, 2022,” he further stated.
