Equities Investors’ Wealth up N259.08bn as Market Index Gains 0.46%
- At the close yesterday’s trading activity, seeing the domestic bourse maintained the bull run, as the equities investors wealth rose by a whopping N259.08 billion, while the All Share Index (ASI) appreciated by 0.46 per cent.
Specifically, the benchmark index increased by 46bps to close at 99,276.03 points, while the market capitalization gained N259.08 billion to close at N56.16 trillion.
Sustained buying interest in GTCO (+2.05%), ZENITHBANK (+1.54%) and FBNH (+1.52%) propelled the market’s positive performance.
Accordingly, the market is on track for a weekly gain after three consecutive weekly losses. The year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 32.77 per cent.
Analysis of Thursday’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions up by 14.04 per cent.
A total of 309.71 million shares valued at N5.44 billion were exchanged in 7,035 deals. For the second time, ACCESSCORP (+0.29%) led the volume chart with 890.33million units traded while ZENITHBANK (+1.54%) led the value chart in deals worth N1.31billion.
Consequently, market breadth closed positive at a 2.58-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering declining ones. SEPLAT (+10.00%) topped thirty (30) others on the gainer’s log, while CORNERST (-8.81%) led eleven (11) others on the laggard’s table.
