Nigerian Drivers Challenge Expands to 23 States Ahead of National Online Test
The inaugural Nigerian Drivers Challenge (Naija Driver 2026), a technology-driven road safety initiative powered by Notch Captains Ltd., has expanded its reach to 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), ahead of its national online screening scheduled for Saturday, October 17.
The project’s organising committee announced that verified candidate profiles had been activated across the participating states, marking a significant milestone in the nationwide competition aimed at promoting safer driving practices.
The Project Director, Adrian Egonu, also disclosed that the proposed venue for the grand finale had recently undergone technical alignment and public safety supervision by the Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI) and the Lagos State Safety Commission.
Candidates Must Use Computers for Online Examination
The organisers have announced strict technical requirements for the national computer-based test (CBT), scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The 20-minute examination will comprise 40 multiple-choice questions and will be conducted through a secure online platform equipped with proprietary anti-cheating technology.
To protect the integrity of the competition, prevent identity fraud and ensure transparent assessment, candidates must take the examination using a personal computer or laptop equipped with a functional webcam and a reliable, high-speed internet connection.
Smartphones and tablets will not be supported because the platform’s security protocols require desktop operating systems to monitor compliance during the test.
Candidates have therefore been advised to make the necessary arrangements for suitable computers and stable internet access before the examination.
LASDRI Training Materials Available Online
As part of the preparation for the competition, LASDRI has integrated its core professional driver training module into the challenge portal.
Registered candidates can access the training materials free of charge through their dashboard. The resources include defensive driving guides, highway code manuals and post-crash first-aid guidelines designed to strengthen their knowledge of road safety and professional driving standards.
Finalists to Compete in Lagos in November
According to the organisers, the highest-scoring candidates from each participating state will qualify as national finalists and be invited to Lagos from November 7 to 10 for live practical driving competitions.
The practical sessions are scheduled to take place at the National Stadium, Surulere, where finalists will compete for the Naija Driver 2026 title, alongside prizes for state and national champions.
Registration and access to the training materials remain free for male and female motorists aged 18 to 65.
However, the organisers said registration for new candidates would close at midnight on October 16, ahead of the national online examination.
Interested motorists can register and obtain further information through the official website, www.nigeriandriverschallenge.com.
