BBNaija4: Mercy receives, N30m cheque, N25m Innoson SUV

Following the wrap-up of Season Four of Big Brother Naija on Sunday, operators of the franchise, Multichoice, has presented the winner of the reality television show, Mercy Eke, her gifts –cheque of N30million and a brand new N25m Innoson SUV.

The presentation, which took place at the Multichoice office and venue of the Big Brother House in Ilupeju, Lagos, had in attendance other BBNaija finalists – first runner-up, Mike, second runner-up, Frodd, Omashola and Seyi – as well as Ike.

Also present at the event were Channel Director: Africa Magic, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, Senior Marketing Manager, Bet9ja, Olufemi Osobajo, Head of Corporate Communication, Heritage Bank, Fela Ibidapo-Obe and Managing Director of Innoson Motors.

Mercy, who made history by becoming the first female winner of Big Brother Naija, thanked organisers and sponsors of the event. She also thanked her family and fans.

“I’m overwhelmed, I’m lost for words,” she said.

When asked about her plans, Mercy, however, disclosed that she was going to push her fashion brand, M & M. She also disclosed that controversial housemate Tacha who was evicted when they fought remained friends.

Speaking during the presentation of the gifts in Lagos on Tuesday, the CEO of Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, disclosed that Nigeria has the biggest and best Big Brother House.

Ugbe thanked everyone involved in the production which trended globally on Twitter.

He disclosed that the owners of the Big Brother bran, Endemol, visited the Big Brother House in Lagos.

“Endemol came in to inspect (the house) and they gave us feedback. One, we have the biggest Big Brother House in the world. But, maybe bigger is not the best. But we have the best Big Brother House in the world.”

Another record which Ugbe revealed was that the show had “50 million votes in the final week.”

Twenty-six housemates had competed for the reality tv show which was themed ‘Pepper Dem’ which ended on Sunday evening after 99 days.
