Equities market records N120.4bn shares of 10 stockbrokers in November
The equities market of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) recorded a total sum of N120.4 billion shares of 10 Stock broking firms in November 2019, the latest NSE report revealed.
The report, which was obtained from the Stock Exchange, stated that the top 10 stockbroking firms accounted for 54.32per cent or 7.58 billion shares of the total volume of stocks traded on the NSE and N120.4 billion or 69.31 per cent of the total value of traded shares in November 2019.
By values, EFG Hermes Nig. Limited led the pack of the leading stockbrokers. On the Exchange, the firm traded the largest volume of shares worth N27.39 billion that represents 15.76per cent of the total value traded in November 2019.
Followed by Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited that pulled shares worth N22.9 billion, 13.21per cent of total traded shares, while Rencap Securities (Nig) Limited traded N14 billion or 8.06 per cent worth of shares.
Chapel Hill Denham Securities Limited traded N12.3 billion shares, representing 7.12per cent of total traded shares, followed by FBN Quest Securities Limited is next on the list with N8.38 billion or 4.82per cent of the total value of traded shares on the NSE.
Others are Cardinalstone Securities Limited that traded N8.22 billion, representing or 4.73per cent of total share value traded while Tellimer Capital Limited traded shares worth N7.94 billion, representing 4.57per cent of total value traded.
Meristem Stockbrokers Limited (N7.0 billion, 4.03per cent), CSL Stockbrokers Limited (N6.47 billion) and Coronation Securities Limited makes the 10th on the list with N5.71 billion traded shares.
