Ethiopian Airlines Unveils Upgraded Domestic Terminal

Ethiopian Airlines has announced the grand opening of its newly transformed Addis Ababa Bole International Airport Domestic Terminal.
The 50 million USD expansion and renovation project has significantly upgraded the terminal, increasing its total built-up area by over 100% to 25,750 m2 and doubling its handling capacity.
“We are delighted to unveil this state-of-the-art domestic terminal, which is a significant step towards modernizing and renovating airports and aviation facilities in Ethiopia,” said Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr Mesfin Tasew.
“As domestic travel demand continues to grow, this expansion will enable us to provide a seamless travel experience for our valued passengers.”
The newly inaugurated domestic terminal serves as the main connecting hub for Ethiopian domestic operations, handling over 200 flights daily to and from 22 domestic destinations.

The expanded terminal features cutting-edge airport systems and facilities, including Four contact gates, 10 remote departure gates, 22 check-in counters with automated hold baggage screening, self-check-in kiosks, a modern security screening system and a Premier passengers’ lounge

Recent initiatives include the launch of thrice-weekly passenger flights to Dembi Dollo, the inauguration of Gode and Jinka airports’ terminals, and plans to open additional airports in the coming months.
The inauguration of the Domestic Terminal is the latest in a series of strategic investments by Ethiopian Airlines to enhance its infrastructure and services in the country.
