Investors Gain N96.79bn as NGX ASI Rises 0.18%

The All-Share Index (ASI) rebounded from previous losses, gaining 0.18 per cent to close at 97,098.98 points today. 

This uptrend was driven by gains in MTNN (+0.28 per cent), GTCO (+1.47 per cent), and ZENITHBANK (+1.37 per cent), which outweighed losses in UBA (-0.48 per cent), NESTLE (-1.81 per cent), and TRANSCORP (-3.70 per cent).

As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased by 18bps to 29.86 per cent, while the market capitalization gained N96.79 billion to close at N55.13 trillion.

Today’s market activity showed a significant increase in trade turnover, with the value of transactions up by 89.59 per cent. 

A total of 636.50 million shares, valued at N12.77 billion, were exchanged in 9,744 deals.

ACCESSCORP (+0.81 per cent) led the volume chart with 112.62 million units traded, while GTCO led the value chart with deals worth N3.34 billion.

The market breadth closed positive at a 1.24-to-1 ratio, with advancing issues outnumbering declining ones. REDSTAREX (+10.00 per cent) topped the gainers’ log, followed by twenty-four others, while NEMETH (-7.69 per cent) led the laggards’ table, followed by nineteen others.
