Eid Celebration: Lawal Calls for Unity, Prayer and Lasting Peace
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has urged Nigerians, especially residents of his state, to uphold the spirit of unity, deepen prayers, and work collectively for peace as Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
In a message marking the end of Ramadan, the governor stressed that Eid should not be seen only as a time for celebration, but also as an opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to moral and spiritual values.
He explained that the discipline and virtues gained during the fasting period such as patience, self-control, compassion, and devotion to God should continue to guide daily life beyond the holy month.
Lawal noted that achieving lasting peace in Zamfara and across Nigeria requires both prayers and deliberate efforts from citizens, emphasizing that unity remains key to development and stability.
Speaking against the backdrop of security challenges in the state, he encouraged residents to see themselves as partners in progress, adding that meaningful growth can only be achieved when people work together for the common good.
The governor also congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the fast and prayed for continued blessings, good health, and prosperity for all.
Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is traditionally observed with prayers, charity, and family gatherings, promoting compassion and stronger community ties.
