FG charged to industrialise Nigeria's economy through support, encouragement of entrepreneurs

The Federal Government of Nigeria has been charged by a renowned business magnate, Dr Ceasar Osaheni Iyayi, on how Nigeria could be great again if mobilises Nigerian entrepreneurs to Industrialise the economy.

Iyayi made this assertion in Benin while briefing newsmen on the book he authored titled “ABC of How to Industrialise Nigeria.”

The present situation where Nigeria could not produce what the citizens consume, he said, was not good for the system and economy.

He noted, however, that industrialisation remained a viable way to develop the country amidst the prevailing economic challenges.

“I believe that Nigeria will succeed because the success of Nigeria will usher in the development of the black race.

‘Up till now, the black race is not contributing anything to the development of mankind; I say that with the full emphasis it deserves.

“We can delude ourselves, but the fact remains that without the industrialised efforts of the developed world, the black race would have remained in the dark.

“The good thing about it is that we are not helpless. If we remain focused and we are able to identify our vision, we can develop this country within a very short spell.

“The Federal Government should authorise Nigerian Entrepreneurs and the benefits are enormous.Let us use what we have,gas to industrialise Nigeria,” he said.

He identified epileptic power supply as an impediment to Industrialisation, but noted that this could be addressed if Nigeria could follow the suggestions in his book.

“Electricity is germane for industrialisation, yet the country does not have it.

“We can establish an industrial zone in the South and authorise our indigenous entrepreneurs to tap into the flaring gas for electricity generation for free of charge since it was being wasted in the first instance.

“They will be able to produce finished products and create employment,” Iyayi said.

He also noted that the book, which would be unveiled early 2022, contained steps on how machine tools, Delta steel companies and Ajaokuta could be used to turn the fortunes of Nigeria’s economy for better.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari and other elected officials to provide the right direction for the country, noting that any country with population such as Nigeria was a mere crowd if not well guarded.

“I have created special attention and direct emphasis to the sitting president and the sitting governors because they hold all the powers.

“I want to urge them to implement the step-by-step strategy elucidated in the book to better the country,” he concluded.
