Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has held a status review meeting with transport stakeholders on the implementation of the Lekki-Epe E-Call Up System, as authorities intensify efforts to improve traffic management around the Dangote Refinery and Lekki corridor.

The meeting, chaired by Oluwaseun Osiyemi alongside Permanent Secretary Olawale Musa, brought together officials of NUPENG, terminal operators, transport consultants and other stakeholders at the Ministry’s conference room in Lagos.

According to the ministry, the engagement provided an opportunity to review developments, operational progress and challenges surrounding the E-Call Up System covering the Dangote Refinery, Lekki Free Zone and Lekki Deep Sea Port corridor.

Providing updates during the meeting, the E-Call Up consultants disclosed that about 11,000 transporters had registered under the system, while approximately 28,000 trucks had also been captured on the platform.

Stakeholders at the meeting raised concerns over the activities of trucks allegedly accessing the corridor without proper call up documentation, a development they said could undermine traffic management efforts in the area.

Responding, Osiyemi assured stakeholders that sustainable enforcement measures would soon be introduced to strengthen compliance and ensure seamless movement along the corridor.

The Commissioner reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving traffic flow, safety and logistics coordination around the rapidly developing Lekki economic zone.

Among those in attendance were Olalekan Bakare-Oki, Director of Transport Operations Olasunkanmi Ojowuro, E-Call Up consultants, leadership of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, terminal operators, directors of the ministry and other transport stakeholders.
