Govt. Pays Volunteers, Who Led Security To Hide Out Of Bandits

The government has compensated the volunteers who led a group of security operatives to the camps and hideouts of bandits in Kaduna and Niger States recently.  The security operatives which comprised of personnel from the Nigerian Army and mobile policemen raided the hideouts of the hoodlums in communities Niger and Kaduna State, and over 30 bandits were killed during the operation.

15 people who supplied information to the bandits were also arrested, and a community chief in Rijana was also arrested for conniving with bandits to carry out criminal activities in the area.

A security operative who was part of the operation said that the volunteers who led the troops to the bandits’ hideouts were paid by the government, and commended the government for the gestures. He said that such encouragement from the government to the civil population would go a long way in the war against insurgency.

In the report which was made by The Punch, the security operative said – “The government paid the volunteers who led the operatives to the camps; this is what we have been advocating for a long time. Appreciating support from the civil populace would boost the war against insurgency and other criminality in the country.”

This is such a commendable operation from the security operatives, and we hope that the civil populace will continue to work with the security forces in the war against insurgency in parts of the country.
